Those gauges are not to be used as a tuning tool and they can only barely be considered to be of use as a warning gauge. It relies on a sensor that is already fairly inaccurate and the build quality of the gauge is not exactly the world's best. I have seen with my own eyes an autometer a/f gauge show full rich as the car detonated due to severe lack of fuel. This is not unheard of, uncommon, or unexpected. When a good a/f gauge says it's lean, the car is detonating, the injector pulsewidth is maxed out, and the gauge says it's running rich you have to wonder.... I would recommend the Greddy a/f gauge (which I believe comes with its own 5 wire O2), EGTs, or a knock sensor long before I'd use those.
